HOPE Farm: Como Soft Opening

Hope Farm Grand Opening (4 of 56).jpg

In the 25 years that HOPE Farm has been in existence, a countless number of boys have been transformed through this organization’s valuable mission. HOPE Farm’s main priority is to provide at-risk boys with a positive male influence, and they accomplish this through a daily after school program. The program is robust with physical activities, educational supplements, Bible studies, nutritious meals, and more. The success stories from their work could be told for days on end, and multiple graduates of HOPE Farm now work as passionate staff members dedicated to furthering the organization’s mission and expanding its impact. In efforts to increase their reach in Fort Worth, HOPE Farm is opening a brand new facility in the Como area in February! This facility will provide room for more boys to reap the benefits of HOPE Farm’s resources, ultimately reducing the number of boys at-risk for increased drug and alcohol abuse, mental illness, suicide, poor educational performance, teen pregnancy, and criminality due to living in single-parent homes.

Even though the grand opening of the building won’t be until February of 2019, we were privileged with the opportunity to help HOPE Farm celebrate a soft opening that featured a few words by Dawson Satcher and Noble Crawford, a dedicated time of prayer over the building and all that will happen inside of its walls, and a “thank you” to all of the donors who financially contributed to making building from the ground up a possibility. The room was full of staff members, donors, board members, and even some of the boys that are currently in the program, and a spirit of celebration characterized the soft opening from start to finish. As guests enjoyed appetizers and drinks, they discussed why they care so deeply about the work of HOPE Farm as well as together dreamt about the future success of this organization.

Because the facility is still under construction, guests were given a sneak peek of what the final product will look like in a few short months. Although unfinished, the space was filled with cocktail tables, elegant centerpieces, and celebratory balloons. As guests mingled, appetizers such as spinach and feta pastries, crab cakes, and salmon bites were served, and dessert was passed around towards the end of the night. After listening to the short program, eating delicious bites, and interacting with other individuals all championing the same mission, guests were handed gifts as they walked out the door. Although it is impossible being able to extend adequate thanks to the driving forces behind this new endeavor, a framed blueprint of the new facility and a HOPE Farm Christmas ornament were given as memorabilia for all that results from their generosity.

The soft opening was a night full of looking back and looking forward, and the buzz of anticipation will continue to build until the facility is up and running in February. We are extremely excited for all that’s to come for HOPE Farm, as we have been consistently blown away by the people and impact of this organization from day one!
